Do you want to help grow rowing in Nova Scotia?  Not sure how you can contribute. Row Nova Scotia is looking for volunteers in the following area’s;

Marketing/Communications
-          Developing a sponsor package
-          Approaching potential sponsors for regattas
-          Help us reach out to other media outlets to give rowing more exposure
Boat Operators
-          Help out at a regatta driving a safety or umpire boat
-          Learn how to drive a motor boat (if you have your operators card) from a coach
Regattas
-          Train to become an umpire
-          Learn to time the races at a regatta
-          Become part of a regatta committee and learn what happens behind the scenes
-          Help out in the kitchen preparing food
Administrative
-          Assist with writing grant proposals for new initiatives

- Check boats onto the water
- Officiate races
- Align boats
- Run the Tower
- Start races

Becoming a licensed RCA Rowing Umpire is easy. Take the umpire course, help out at 5 or 6 regattas, take the test and voila!

Row Nova Scotia will be holding a free Umpire Course May 4 & 5 (9-4 & 9-12), in Halifax at Sport Nova Scotia.

Row NS will be hosting the RCA Coach Weekend #1 Workshop on March 29-31, 2013. This workshop is for coaches wishing to coach Competition Introduction, the training to train and early learning to compete stage of the LTAD.

The RCA Coach Weekend #1 Workshop will take place starting Friday March 29, 2013 and run on Saturday and half a day Sunday. The Workshop will take place in Antigonish, Nova Scotia.

Cost of the workshop is $100. If you would like to register please contact Janessa Green (jgreen@sportnovascotia.ca) or phone 902-425-5450 ext 357 BEFORE March 20, 2013

Space is limited for the workshop, so please confirm attendance ASAP. Registration is not complete until payment has been received for the Workshop.

There has been a change to the Row NS Canada Games Selection Document. Please note that the change comes to the due date of the Letter of Intent. Letter of Intent must be given to the Coach on or BEFORE March 17, 2013. Please see the revised Canada Games Selection Document.
