Good Luck Brienne Miller (NSRC) at the World Rowing Beach Sprint Finals

Congratulations Brienne Miller (North Star Rowing Club) who was selected, along with Aubrey Oldham (Leander Boat Club) and Sarah Pidgen (Don Rowing Club) to represent Canada at the second edition of the World Rowing Beach Sprint Finals beginning Friday, September 24 on the beach of Praia da Torre in Oeiras, Portugal. Team selections were through the RCA Beach Sprint Trials, which took place this August across Canada, including an event hosted in Lunenburg, NS!

Nova Scotia’s Jenna Pelham will join Brienne in Portugal as part of the Canadian coaching staff!

This coastal rowing competition involves a barefoot sprint on a beach to the competitors’ boats, 250m of slalom racing around buoys, and a final beach sprint from the water’s edge to the finish line.

The Beach Sprint Finals will take place from Friday to Sunday. Time trials will take place on Friday, September 24, with finals for the CMix2x on Saturday, September 25 and finals for the CM1x and CW1x on Sunday, September 26.
