Throw down with the fastest indoor rowers across the Atlantic provinces and see how you measure up. Rowers, CrossFitters, home workout enthusiasts – all are welcome at Beast of the East. This competition will feature three tests, completed over two weeks, to crown one Beast of the East. Athletes must compete in all three tests to be crowned Beast of the East and receive the grand prize – a fat $250 cheque.

Beast of the East Indoor Rowing Competition Poster
Age Categories
There is an age category for everyone. All categories are as of January 1, 2022.
- Junior (under 19)
- Senior (ages 19-35)
- Masters 1 (ages 36-50)
- Masters 2 (ages 51+)
- Lightweight (mens 75kg, womens 61.5kg)
- Para (PR1, PR2, PR3)
Prizes
Prizes will be awarded to the following:
- Female Beast of the East Overall Champion – $250 cash prize
- Male Beast of the East Overall Champion – $250 cash prize
- The top female and male finisher in each age, lightweight, and Para categories overall – Beast of the East Tee
Point System
The top athletes overall (across all age categories) from each event will earn points based on their placing. The male and female athletes who earn the most points after all three tests will be crowned Beast of the East.
Points will awarded based on the following: 1st – 10 points, 2nd – 9 points, 3rd – 8 points, 4th – 7 points, 5th – 6 points, 6th – 5 points, 7th – 4 points, 8th – 3 points, 9th – 2 points, 10th – 1 point, 11+ – 0 points.
Registration Fees
The registration fee for this event is $30 to participate in all three events and compete for the title of the Beast of the East. Fees must be made by e-transfer to rowing@rowns.ca, using the password indoorrowing.
Fees must be paid before you submit the results for your first test.
Submissions
Submissions must be made any time during the submission window for each test using the google forms links below:
- The submission window for Test #1 is Monday, March 14, 2022 at 12:01am (ADT) to Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 11:59pm (ADT).
- The submission window for Test #2 is Sunday, March 20, 2022 at 12:01am (ADT) to Thursday, March 24, 2021 at 11:59pm (ADT).
- The submission window for Test #3 is Friday, March 25, 2022 at 12:01am (ADT) to Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 11:59pm (ADT).
